We believe in holistic and sustainable development of villages by taking up multiple development activities as per the most important needs of the village community with particular emphasis on the requirements of the most needy people. We firmly believe in Samagra Gram Vikash, a Gandhian model of development of Self reliant villages. In Chedka village of Madhya Pradesh and Gonglur Village of Telangana, We have primarily focused on following works.
At Gandhi Gram Sewa Kendra Char Mandali, in association with Char Mandali Cooperative Farms, we provide free of cost training of co-operative Farming, organic farming, establishment of organic kitchen garden and water conservation and water management techniques. We also provide organic seeds of major crops and vegetables at no profit no loss basis to the needy farmers.
Gram Sewa Samiti holds weekly webinar on every Sunday, where various issues pertaining to holistic Rural development and organic farming are discussed with the social workers engaged in sustainable rural development and other social activities like education, health and environment etc.
Regular medical camps are held at both the villages,where patients of nearby villages are treated free of cost. Serious patients are referred to higher medical care in District headquarters. Special camps for Eyes, ENT, Heart,Cancer etc are also organised for the benefit of poor people.
Earlier, Women of the tribal villages used to sell jungle wood by carrying huge weight on their head for up to 12 Kilometres just to earn petty amounts in exchange from nearby town. Soon after the establishment of Gram Sewa Kendra, the villagers were trained under M.P Government’s Rural Aajivika Mission. The Self help group of women have started the works of production of scented soaps, packaging of detergent powder and sanitary napkins, stitching, weaving and preparation of bari, papad, achar, etc.
In Gram Sewa Kendra, Gonglur Self help group of women was trained for making quality Masks which were in huge demand due to Corona outbreak. This group have made approx twenty thousand mask which were supplied almost at cost price to the Hospitals of Hyderabad, Government departments as well as general public. Many more projects of alternative source of livelihood are in the pipeline at various stages.
Tribal village Chedka did not have potable water source within the village area. Two borewell were got installed with the help of forest department. A supply line with storage tank was installed by the Samiti to provide drinking water at the door of the villagers.
For encouraging the alternative source of energy our both the Gram Sewa Kendra use only solar power. Street Solar lights at strategic locations in the village were also also installed for proper lighting during night time, which is very essential in the tribal village Chedka as wild animals often comes in village from nearby forest areas.
Two small libraries are established in both the Gram Sewa Kendra. The library contains books related to Sarvodaya Sahitya, literature and books useful for competitive exams for young students of villages.
Facilities for common sports like Kabaddi, Volleyball, Badminton and Cricket etc have been created in the villages for the benefit of students and youth. Participation of Girls in sports is also encouraged.
To make best use of digital technology by the rural students a smart class is started in Government High school of Gonglur. Two computer classes have also been started at both the Gram Sewa Kendra to acquaint the rural students with basics of computers.
Water conservation programs are one of the main area of work encouraged by us in villages. With the help of MANREGA deepening of community pond is carried out at Chedka. A new community pond is being constructed at Gonglur. Every household is encouraged to have a personal soak pit for water conservation.
This is another thrust area of environmental activists of the Trust. With the help of Social forestry department huge plantation is carried out by in both the villages by active community participation.
Every household is encouraged to have it’s own Organic kitchen garden in the front or back of the house for supply of Fresh seasonal vegetables.
With the active participation of entire village frequent Cleanliness Drives are organised particularly on special occasions such as Gandhi Jayanti and festival times.
We firmly believe in public participation in developmental activities through shramadaan. In Gonglur a group of Volunteers have done 100 days of uninterrupted Shramdan for cleanliness and beautification of village.
We also involve students of schools of the village as well as visiting students of public schools of Hyderabad and IIT Hyderabad and NSS volunteers of nearby districts for Shramdan in various manual activities.
Training for organic farmars at Gandhi Gram Sewa Kendra Char Mandali is organized free of cost.where we have created domatory accommodation facilities for Organic Farmers.
For promotion of organic farming and organic food products we are organizing organic haats at Bhopal and few other places for the benefits of organic farmers and consumers of organic farm produce.
We are working for Conservation of traditional seeds of various crops in association with Padam Shree Babulal Dahiya at Gram Sewa Samiti campus at Char Mandali Abidabad panchayat District Sehore MP.
We have created a model for display of water conservation practices and practical training of water conservation in Agriculture fields is provided at our Char Mandali centre.
Jan Jan Tak Jaivik Mission has been started by us in association with Naman Sewa Samiti Betul and Gandhi Bhawan Bhopal on 2nd October 2022 aiming to connect organic farmers with consumers of organic farm produce so that the farmers could get the best prices and the consumers get fresh organic food products at reasonable price.
On Sunday evening regular webinars are held with office bearers of NGOs engaged in holistic rural development and creation of awareness about organic farming. These webinars are held under the banners of Swasth,Shikshit evam Smiraddh Gram and Rashtriya Jaivik Parivar.
Every year we hold two national conference of social workers and charitable organizations engaged in holistic Rural Developement and Organic Farming.
Our another important aim is perfect harmony and close association among the people and NGO’s having common interest. In our project ” Green Chedka” “Donate an hour” Gurgaon and “Jeevan Sarthak” group have joined hands with us in making Chedka village a green village.
