On 15th August 2018, severe floods affected the State of Kerala due to unusally high rainfall during the monsoon season. It was the worst flood in Kerala in nearly a century which ruined many lives and properties. Over 483 people and thousands of animals died and most of the drinking water sources got contaminated which created huge shortage of safe drinking water. The major affected area in Kerala was Pathanamthitta and Alleppy.

The members of Gram Sewa Samiti decided to provide immediate relief to the worst affected masses on the basis of on the spot scientific survey. Samiti planned to extend support to the most affected people in remote areas.

The Vice-Chairman of the Samiti, Shri Dayaram Namdeo (80 years) joined a relief campain spearheaded by Sh. R.K. Paliwal IRS, Principal Commissioner Income Tax in the worst affected areas with the team of volunteers from five states i.,e M.P, U.P, Delhi, Bihar and Haryana. The group distributed necessary items like food kits, containing sufficient ration for one month, drinking water, clothes and medicine etc, directly by visiting doors of the affected people. Also monetary help through RTGS to the bank accounts of women of the houses was extended by the Samiti for reconstruction of damaged houses.
